Welcome to our new website. Until now you have been on the Philo Agora mailing list from which you have been receiving a weekly notice of the next speaker. In future, all newsletters will eminate from the website.

There will be the usual checks and balances consistant with all websites on the integrity of the mailing list with the usual opt out facilities. You have been added to the subscriber list as a matter of course.

This Tuesday, May 13, Philip Quadrio will talk on "The Philosophy of Religion".

The talk will examine the nature of philosophy of religion by distinguishing it from philosophical theology, re-orientating what many of us take philosophy of religion to be. It will then discuss the ethico-political importance of this subject for contemporary life.

Phil is currently editing the text /Religion and Politics in the New Century: Philosophical Perspectives/, has taught philosophy of religion at the University of Sydney, the University of New South Wales and Macquarie University. In conjunction with P.Diego Bubbio, he helps to run the Philosophy of Religion Research Seminars held by the Department of Philosophy at the University of Sydney.
